Comments:
I would just like to clarify that Steves ranting is not so much "mad" ranting as you would have us believe but more along the lines of disgruntled ranting and if you hippies would put away your marijuana bongs and brush your hoopity doo da hair cuts out of your eyes then you could tell the difference.

Hey, I appreciate a good hallucinogen every now and again, just like any patriotic, red-blooded American. And I enjoy some of your drug-laced music the likes of which Pink Floyd, or Bob Marley might produce. And I do like Devendra Banhart. He needs to focus a bit, but otherwise is fine musician. What I object to is the implication that Johnny Cash is some dopehead junkie.
Thank you, Matt, for the clarification. To clarify further - repeative, mundane "dance" electronica is really the only music that I think needs a drug influence in order to appreciate. Or natrual stupidity. Generally speaking, of course. Now, don't all you you X-heads throw all your glow sticks at me at once. And yeah, In-N-Out is great. I don't even care if they are Christian, they can grill up a mighty fine cow sandwich.
Firstly, ya'll didn't start off your comment with an "f" word. And that tells me something-- Nobody cares about my dumb participation ideas, so I need to stop.
Matt - Thanks for hitting up the site with your feedback. I wish you would comment more often. Did you get your plane ticket out here yet? Steve - There is something you might not understand about me and my love for "dumb, repetitive electronica." As a web designer, I'm guessing I spend a lot more time in front of the computer then you. When I code HTMl and CSS there is a certain level of concentration required. Most of the time, it's hard for me to get into a strong groove doing what I do unless the music I'm listening to is something non-invasive and for the most part, in the background. The electronic music I mention here is perfect for that. So after hours of listening to it while I work, it's only natural that I acquire appreciation for some of it. As for Johnny Cash, my implication was that he was a gangster (not a drugged up hippie). Ultimately, I was tyring to compare him to modern day rappers in a sneaky kind of way. But I agree, Cash was way cooler. Maybe we can come to a truce. I'll burn and mail you an electronic album (one I think you would enjoy) that you should try listening to (and zoning out on) while you paint and vice versa. Yes?
Hey, I got some 2 cents here: Moby is staright edge.
He sucks now, but he's electroic and drug free.
Cory, friend o mine, you once again are correct. Ambient music is good for just that. I guess I always used the local classical radio station for that purpose. Although Marigold says that even that is a bit too intriguing to fall away completely. I can see her point. But then again, I can sleep in a bright, loud, and crowded room in an uncomfortable position after a full night of sleep. Butt that is my problem.

P.S. I will only listen to a mix TAPE of this thing you call music. I believe that people will throw away their CDs and switch back to this hip 80s media form. << Home |
